Hello and Welcome.

Thank you for swinging by my corner of the internet!

Allow me to introduce myself (cue Jay-Z’s “Public Service Announcement”): I’m Lisa, and I’m a brand designer, visual strategist and graphic designer. My mission is to help make businesses more personal by creating brands that connect deeply on both sides—joining the visionary behind the business AND the customer in front of it. I believe that a combination of empathy and strategy can help us achieve that.

If you’re wondering about the name, Verve & Concord, what does it mean? Well, verve = “spirit, vigor, or enthusiasm” and concord = “harmony, or agreement.” I think the name alludes to a couple of things: soul, deep connection, and the enthusiasm I have to help business owners find harmony with their brands.

If you’re also wondering what makes me qualified to create brands and design marketing materials for businesses, check out my previous work. I bring 10 years of experience in design. Prior to 2021, I cut my design teeth creating presentations for an opinion research firm, then designed communications, marketing, and event materials for non-profits, and have helped brand or re-brand a few organizations and small businesses.

Finally, if you’re wondering if there’s anything else to know about me, here are a few tidbits:

  • I’ve been a designer for over 10 years now, but my previous experience was in video production. Storytelling is and will always be at the heart of what I do as a designer.

  • My dad started and runs his own medical practice, and he inspired me to gain the confidence to run my own business as well. Funny thing is, I’m the only designer in a family of medical professionals. At one point in my life, my parents wanted me to be a doctor, but I always knew I was meant to work in a creative field.

  • I’ve lived in Washington, DC for 14 years, which technically makes me a Washingtonian. But I was raised in Orlando, Florida and am very much still a Florida girl. I enjoy being in DC, but love going back to my hometown to see family, experience the slower change of pace and, well, to visit Disney.

  • Design-wise, I love branding and editorial design, and have a soft spot for packaging. I’m obsessed with typography and will get very particular about how to communicate effectively through type.

If you have a branding or design project and want to work with me, or just want to get some suggestions for DC or Orlando spots to visit, shoot me a message!
